SÉJOUR ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal travel expense tracker available at sejour.life. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using SÉJOUR, you agree to the practices described here.

What data we collect

We collect only the data you provide directly:

• A display name and access code you create when signing up
• Trip details you enter: name, destination, dates, currency, budget
• Expense records you log: date, category, amount, currency, description, notes
• If you connect Google Sheets: a Google OAuth access token and refresh token to access your Google Drive on your behalf
• If you contact us via the in-app message form: your name, email address, and message content

How we use your data

We use your data solely to provide and improve SÉJOUR's functionality:

• To display and manage your trips and expenses within the app
• To convert expense amounts to your home currency using live exchange rates
• To sync your expense data to a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive when you explicitly request it
• To respond to messages you send via the in-app contact form

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the app's core functionality.

Google user data

When you choose to connect Google Sheets, SÉJOUR requests the following permissions:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file — to create and manage a spreadsheet in your Google Drive that SÉJOUR generates on your behalf
• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets — to write your expense data, trip summaries, and category breakdowns into that spreadsheet

SÉJOUR only accesses files it creates. We do not read, modify, or delete any other files in your Google Drive.

Your Google OAuth tokens are stored securely in our database and are used exclusively to perform sync operations you initiate. They are never shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party.

Google user data is not used for any purpose beyond the features described above. We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements or to build user profiles.

SÉJOUR's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except as follows:

• Supabase — our database provider stores your app data securely on our behalf
• Resend — used solely to deliver email notifications when you submit an in-app message; only your name, email, and message content are transmitted
• Frankfurter API — a public currency exchange rate API; no personal data is sent to this service

No Google user data is shared with any of the above third parties.

Data protection

We take the following measures to protect your data:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS
• Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security policies that ensure users can only access their own data
• Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and are never exposed to the client
• No passwords are stored — access is controlled by a unique access code you create

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from the app under Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

If you disconnect Google Sheets access, you can revoke SÉJOUR's permissions at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access does not delete your SÉJOUR account or expense data.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data — especially Google user data — we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
